Witch Country Ghost Stories: England's Last Witch

Witch Country Ghost Stories: England's Last Witch

In 1712, seventy-year-old Jane Wenham stood trial in Hertfordshire for witchcraft. Convicted and sentenced to hang, she was unexpectedly pardoned by Queen Anne — but driven from the village she called home. Her story would become a national sensation, and she would go down in history as the last woman in England to be condemned for witchcraft by a court of law.

This Hallowed season, we return to Walkern to uncover the story of the woman at the heart of England's last witch trial.
